My Dear Gaza — By Gazans, for YOU!

The team behind My Dear Gaza is multigenerational and diverse—the one thing we all have in common? We are proud Gazans! MDG’s team is made up of proud Gazans who have experienced numerous wars and escalations. While we will happily accept support from non-Gazans, MDG will always be Gazan. Everything is created by and approved by Gazans. Because who else can better tell the world why we call Gaza our dear!?

About My Dear Gaza.

Gaza is dear to us, and she is ours!

While Palestine has been under attack for ages, the spotlight is now on Gaza. Unfortunately, the spotlight shines on little more besides destruction, bloodshed, and horrors.

While it is pertinent that the world remains aware of all that is happening, we, as Gazans, believe that the world should also make the active decision to honor and celebrate Gaza and ahilha (literally: “her people”).

We aim to . . .

  • Highlight the beauty of Gaza, particularly the Gaza of October 6, 2023 and before.
  • Promote cultural understanding and literacy, raise awareness, and build bridges.
  • Share anything and everything “Gaza” — this includes Gazan heritage, traditions, history, arts, geography, stories (especially stories!), and more.
  • Build an international community that is dedicated to learning about, taking action to support, and celebrating Gaza.

As Fyodor Dostoyevsky once wrote,

One cannot love what one does not know.

While we cannot deny that much of the world cares about Gaza, we believe that love is an entirely different beast. One cannot love what one does not know and most — even those who consider themselves pro-Palestinian — do not know Gaza.

We hope to better your knowledge of and relationship with Gaza so that you can one day say that you know and love Gaza with confidence.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

— Nelson Mandela (who once also said: “But we know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.)

Education and action — these are perhaps the two keys to countering the cultural oppression and genocide Gazans and Palestinians face.

This is why we aim to help build a community that is both knowledgeable and proactive.

We want you to love Gaza as we love Gaza. Why?

We want you to love Gaza as we love Gaza so that you can better support Gaza, which is paramount. Gaza needs you. Gaza need us all, so stand with us.

Stand with us as we shout,

“We are here for you, our dear!”

We are committed to honoring and celebrating Gaza while simultaneously calling for an end to any and all violence and oppression. Don’t be a stranger. Follow and join us as we embark on this journey to support our dear Gaza!
